Slate Bannerstone found in Vigo County Indiana by Ken Stenzinger in 1969. Reed drilled. Note engraving on both sides. Possible miniature ax effigy. Referring to the image on the web site, you will note the smaller side has a small indented groove area on the upper and lower wing portion close to the hole area which could of been used for hafting or suspension. This edge is somewhat thinker, as the wing is shortened, with the edge having what appears to be pounding chips. There is evidence of this chipped area having grinding.

The longer wing portion comes to a sharp edge. There is evidence of once being used to pound or hit an object which has resulted in a small area of the edge having small chips or peck marks.

Lengths at widest: 3 1/8 inch long, 1 3/4 inch width, 1" thick at hole area Ex Ben Thompson Email for Price
